What's
New in Version 4.0
1)
Development migrated to .NET 1.1 forward compatible with 1.1 and greater.
2)
MulitProcessor support.
3)
Each Monitoring Queue is multi-threaded.
Each Queue runs with its own parameters and schedule independent of
other Queues.
Requirements:
System
running this software needs to have the .net framework installed. Visit http://www.microsoft.com and install
the .net framework 1.1
http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/downloads/framework1_1redist/
You
can check your system by looking in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET. The subfolder name is the version of the
framework your running.
Notes
on executing external programs:
1)The
program has to terminate itself or it will run in memory until the server reboots.
This is because the executed program is waiting for a user response.
2)Directory
Watch launches exeternal programs in its own independent process. Directory Watch does not wait until the
launched program terminates.
3)Use
8.3 filename with some Windows 2000 machines if your having challenges
executing a program. Example(c:\progra~1\dirwatch\restart.bat)
Installation:
Run
setup.exe
Introduction:
Run
DirectoryWatchConsole.exe to configure the Service. Then start the service via
Control Panel. By default all Queues are
turned off. You can reconfigure a queue
without restarting the Windows Service.
